What is a DTS File?
A .DTS file is an audio file that supports 6 or 8-channel audio, which means it stores 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound. The audio data is encoded using the Digital Theater Systems (DTS) codec. Such files are usually used in home theaters for surround audio, provided it has the correct setup.
Many iterations have been made to the DTS file format over the years to enhance its capabilities whilst delivering high-quality audio content. Therefore, they may be relatively greater in size than most other audio file formats.
