gEdit
GNOME’s gEdit is an open-source text editor which runs on the Linux operating system.
gEdit can be used for a number of programming languages, including C++, Java, XML, HTML, Python, and Perl. The editor offers customizable syntax highlighting along with “search and replace” capabilities.
gEdit also offers text wrapping, bracket matching, current line highlighting, and customizable font and color options. The editor also accepts plugins if you need to add any additional features.
