MAMP is an acronym for “macOS, Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, and PHP/Perl/Python.” Similar to XAMP, MAMP is designed to host web projects locally on a macOS or Windows device. It simply installs a local server management environment on your computer, using which you can host websites and webpages locally.
