Microsoft Windows Command Prompt

Windows Command Prompt is a command-line interpreter, which essentially means that it is a tool that lets you enter commands and then execute them to perform certain tasks and functions. The Windows Command Prompt comes preinstalled in Windows and Windows Server operating systems which can be accessed by typing in “cmd” in the Run Command box or by searching for “cmd.exe” in the search box.

The Command Prompt is usually used by the system and network administrators to perform and automate tasks quickly, or run scripts through .BAT (batch) files.
