What is an HTACCESS File?
An HTACCESS file, which is short for HTTP access, contains instructions for different directories of an Apache web server as well as information about how and when the HTACCESS file should be used.
Such files do not contain a prefix before the dot and are usually placed in the root directory of a website. It is used to perform different functions, such as page redirects, denying access, defining a page’s index, etc.
