What is an MNG File?
The MNG file format stores multiple PNG files to create an animation effect with the support of multi-level transparency. The developers published this file type back in 2001 but did not want to use the same PNG file extension for the animations as well, therefore introducing a dedicated extension for PNG animations, .MNG.
An MNG file is very much like a .GIF file, but with better higher compression ratios. This means that you can save more space on your storage device as compared to a GIF file.
