What is an XPM File?
The XPM file format is an enhancement of the XBM format, both of which are used by the X Windows System. A .XPM file contains a bitmap image in plain text in the C programming language, which is compiled by a C compiler rather than an image software. The XPM format supports monochrome, grayscale, and color pixmap data and is primarily used for icons.
